When the American Legion – Wauconda post first opened, it was a simple building with just a kitchen, bar, and meeting room. However, as their membership increased, the post needed to keep adding to their building to accommodate their growing number, including a parking lot expansion. Today, the Legion includes a larger kitchen, a spacious hall for events that can hold hundreds of people, a back bar, and a video gaming area.
Because of the stunning work done by J&J Gaming, American Legion – Wauconda is locked and loaded with pristine video gaming terminals. These have been crafted by brand-name manufacturers such as Scientific Games, WMS, Spielo International, IGT, Novomatic, and more.

Outside of serving up hot meals and video gaming opportunities, American Legion – Wauconda is led by a mostly volunteer-based and community-oriented staff. This means that even though the post donates the majority of their funds to veterans, they still contribute plenty to local organizations and scholarship funds.
American Legion – Wauconda goes as far as to host events for the Boy Scouts as well as for the entire Wauconda community through their karaoke nights and lightning raffles. Not only does the adjacent bar have great prices, but it’s also open to non-members too.
