The American Legion Post 964 is always buzzing with community members of Lake Zurich because of their amazing video gaming setup. By working with video gaming terminal operator J&J Gaming, they have a nice collection of video slots and poker machines created by brand-name manufacturers such as Scientific Games, WMS, Spielo International, IGT, Novomatic, and more.
Since 1948, when they first chartered, the American Legion Post 964 has been located at the heart of downtown Lake Zurich, IL. While the post itself has been there for over half a century, the bar housed at the legion only opened to the public as recently as April 6, 2015. They quickly adopted the name Landing Zone, or LZ Bar, to pay homage to their hometown of Lake Zurich.
American Legion Lake Zurich Post 964 is very involved with the community. They serve doughnuts and refreshments to veterans, run Texas Hold’em tournaments, provide high school scholarships, and host events for the local boy scouts, Chamber of Commerce, the Veterans Assistance Commission, Toys for Tots program, and school district.

Since their recent opening, the American Legion Lake Zurich Post 964’s LZ Bar has become a stiff competitor for other local pubs in the convenient downtown area. That’s because it’s established itself as a homey bar that invites and entertains all walks of life. After all, the clientele ranges from 25-year-olds to 80-year-olds.
Guests tend to enjoy complimentary popcorn as well as ice-cold beers while they catch their favorite game on TV, listen to tunes on the jukebox, or test their luck on one of the four video slot machines. Food and drink specials are served daily: you can’t go wrong with a homemade sandwich or flavorful tacos. Best of all, most of the money earned at LZ Bar goes towards the veterans of Ela Township and Lake County. It’s a serious win-win situation.
